Resolver Decoder Advantages.

The decision of whether to use a resolver or encoder depends entirely on the application. The factor that has the greatest impact on the decision is the operating environment. The environmental integrity of a brushless resolver is unchallenged. Being simple rotary transformers, resolvers can take more abuse than optical encoders.

Resolvers exhibit no significant wear or aging. This is especially important when the operational temperature is below freezing or above 150 F. Under these extremes, the only choice is to use a resolver. The operating temperature of a typical resolver ranges from -67 F to +248 F. Resolvers also survive in conditions of severe mechanical shock and vibrations, excesses in humidity, oil mists, and exposure to coolants and solvents.

We pride ourselves on providing dependable support with a dedicated staff of engineers with decades of experience working locally to drive fast turn-around times for service work, repairs and diagnostics.

Resolver Decoder

Resolver Decoders decode the analog outputs from a resolver into a digital format to feed into a PLC or other controllers. Autotech uses a highly "noise immune" ratiometric decoding technique in all decoder products. A wide range of decoders are available with various features such as zero Offset capability, flexibile resolution or counts per turn, choice of output types (TTL, sinking or sourcing), output formats (BCD, binary or gray code), and single or multi-turn models. Autotech also offers plug-in decoders for A-B 1771 I/O rack and IBM PC-XT/AT bus.

AVG Automation meets your Application's Needs

Today's and Tomorrow's motion control applications all have one need in common: reliable and accurate velocity and position information. Without it, there is no control.

AVG Automation has supplied resolvers and ultrasonic linear transducers that are found in literally thousands of applications world-wide. Designed to survive in hostile industrial environments, they work where others fail. But, what if a standard version doesn't meet your applications' requirements? Before you look elsewhere, AVG Automation would like to have you consider a few facts about our products and services.

Autotech's PLS's offer many advanced features such as Zero Offset Adjustment, Dynamic Zeroing and Programmable Rate Offset. Zero Offset allows the operator to easily align the "resolver zero" to the "machine zero". Dynamic Zeroing (Mod Z) allows modification of the zero reference for selected channels based on an external trigger independent of the actual resolver position. Programmable Rate Offset(ROF) allows automatic adjustments of set points to compensate for machine speed changes.

The Autotech microprocessor-based PLS's use a patented DMA technique that employ "look up" tables to achieve the fastest machine operations in the industry: 20,00 set points in 85 microseconds.

Autotech offers a wide spectrum of PLS's. To size a PLS for your application. Please refer to the Programmable Limit Switches - Summary of Features.
